Self
Drive Day Tour of Loch Lomond
From
the A720, join the M8 to Glasgow.
At
junction 19, join the A814 signed to Clydebank and Dunbarton.
Join
the A82 signed to Alexandria and Balloch. Visit Balloch
Castle at the bottom of Loch Lomond.
Travel
up the West Side of the loch to Luss, where the TV programme
"Take the high road" was filmed.
Visit
the Loch Lomond Shore Gateway Centre.
At
the top of the loch visit the Falls of Falloch.
Then,
on to Crianlarich. Join the A85 and turn Right - look
out for Ben More (1174m) on your Right.
Travel
through Glen Dochart and Glen Ogle to Lochearnhead.
Join
the A84, and travel down the side of Loch Lubnaig. Visit
the Falls of Leny.
Look
out for the sign for the Burial Place of Rob Roy. His
grave is in a lovely churchyard up a single track road
about 7 miles before Callander.
Follow
the A84 to Stirling. Visit Stirling Castle and the Wallace
Monument.
From
Stirling, rejoin the M9 then A720 back to Midlothian.
